Or No Side

Meditating on my home, Oceanside, California, I represent notions of impermanence in physical spaces, asking questions about the future of the region. In conversation with original source photography, my work seeks a connection between reality, illusion, and intuition. This body of work is interested in memory and temporality, and the feeling of melancholy and powerlessness one experiences navigating endangered urban spaces that are subject to the homogenizing force of gentrification.

Questa non e una mela

A series of paintings and drawings reimagining the female emotional experience as an apple. The apple as visual metaphor for emotional wellbeing translates inner states of health, damage, or decay. This body of work examines my personal narratives related to trauma, boundaries, expectations, addiction, and self care.
